Well after messing around with the settings of the WP PageNavi.. I seemed to of fixed it for right now. Not sure why its doing this on my end, but maybe it is a bug in their code.

What is the bug here? how was it before?

when do you get this? with the normal blog/archive/search or with the bfthumbs shortcode. I upgraded, but can't see this, but I don't have so many posts either. I suspect this is a plugin bug though. You can use the WP Page Numbers plugin instead.

I just thought that you should know about this, not sure if this is doing the same for others, but thought you should know and figure out a cure.. haha

you can add this to the customHeader in functions.php of the bfNav child theme. Something like this:

<div id="topheader"><div class="inside clearfix">

Hi,

I'm not so familiar with PHP, so I have tried at several places in the index.php of Bigfeature, to add the WPML code

<?php do_action('icl_language_selector'); ?>

that is required in the theme to show the language selector.

The plugin itself seems to work, because if I set the options of WPML to show the selector in the footer, it shows the selector.

But I would like to have the selector at the top right side of the "topheader".

I use BFNav 1.0.5 and WP 3.1.

I searched several theme files for the "topheader", but I cannot find it, so that I can add this code to it.

So where can I add the code for the selector shown in the topheader of BFnav?

Thanks.

Is that a plugin or a piece of code?

Thanx. I will do my best. And yes. Barandum is right. An mulitauthor widget would be really useful.
And it would very helpful if it could be an widget which is customized.
An link for author homepage and mini icons for social networks and one free icon. For example: one of my guest author has written a new book. In that case I could give him within the author box an special icon to amazon (for the book) or another selling point.

you can add it below the article with hook or a filter.

hook:
1. Create a php function (in functions.php (preferably in a child theme)) containing the author box code, like this:

function myAuthorBox(){
/*
your code here
*/
}

2. Add a hook action call like this:

add_action('bf_after_article', 'myAuthorBox', 9);

filter:
1. Create a php function (in functions.php (preferably in a child theme)) containing the author box code, like this:

function myAuthorBox($content){
/*
your code where you append stuff to the content like this:
$content .= $mystuff;
*/
return $content;
}

2. Filter the content to add the code like this:

you have to update the style.css to upgrade to 1.3.3. The theme will not work if you don't. I recommend to add css changes in a child theme, then upgrading will not be a problem.

well, I changed the thumbnail excerpt in 1.3.3...it's cutting off the excerpt. The reason I did this was because the photoblog template is using the excerpt, and that could cause long excerpts to be written. maybe not the best solution...

you can change this (in the bf_excerpts function in theme-functions.php):

if($content) {
    if ($postType == "normal" || $postType == "feature" || $postType == "portfolio") $readmore = true;

There must be a bug in bfthumbs or theme_functions, cause I enter something along the lines of "testing: 1st, 2nd, SS, OF" and it will not post all of my excerpt.

Yeah, make sure you are using bfthumbs, not the portfolio template, and put "Position: Catcher, 1st, OF" for your excerpt and see what you get.

Using Wordpress 2.9.1 and Big Feature 1.3.3

Also, let say I don't add an excerpt and I want to use the <!--more--> in the post. It doesn't seem to work, It just posts every thing. Hmmm... I still think there is a bug here or I don't have something set up right.

Last, If I set Limit Thumbnail text to zero, it will display nothing except ...read more

Thanks, Tim

The read more link is easy to adjust in css.

go here http://jeanpaulhaire.com/portfolio/ and use firebug to debug the read more link on the first portfolio excerpt to see how i changed the style.css. (look at the one with the arrow, not the ...)

please note, that all my content is total dummy content and the site is under development. i hope this helps you with the css.

ps, i am using the excerpt feature rather than the more link.. i like the control better.

bye. jp

to change the bfthumbs edit the bfthumbs_func in theme-functions. The bf_excerpt function is called from there.

or you can set the "Limit thumbnail text" setting to 0 and the thumbnail text will be stripped for html, but it will show the whole post content too then.

I am using bfthumbs in a portfolio page (like your portfolio page) and am using the excerpt to show the reader what I want them to see. However, this theme will throw away all the formatting I have in the excerpt and put read more any where it likes. I would like bullets and be able to adjust my own readmore in "thumbnail posts". Please assist.

Maybe I need get to rid of bf_excerpt and use the wordpress expert function. How do i do this?

Thanks, Tim
