Hi,

I would like to stretch my navigation bar to the full width of a page. I also want the content of the navigation bar to start at the same position of the other content of the page (i.e. that there is some white space left and right to the content of my page). It would look like this: http://consumpsy.nl/

I've been adjusting the navigation parameters in the stylesheet and searching the web for two hours, unfortunately it didn't work out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Kind regards,

Joren

Hi!

On http://www.capeinsights.com I first used the BFNav child theme, which had the search bar within the nav bar. My client wanted a different look, though, so I switched to the main BigFeature theme, using BFBlank for modifications.

My client likes the look of the 'NavBar' navigation, but still wants the search bar - so I tried to figure out how to place it inside the nav bar section (rather than in the header space using settings) as it is in BF Blank - but I can't quite work it out (hope I'm not missing something obvious)

Really appreciate your help, as always!

I recently installed a child theme and I followed your directions for the Topnav to work and it works, but its also showing the other navbar on top as well. I tried everything to get rid of it, but I can't figure it out. I hope you or someone can help me!

To me it almost looks like the theme could be broken and its showing the other navbar as well.

Hi there,

I would like to remove the usual horizontal navigation bar, and add a vertical navigation menu instead.

I already managed to add the vertical navigation by using the tipp from the tipps and tricks section.
But the horizontal navigation is still shown, even though I unchecked the setting "Show the navigation".

Could you help me further with this issue? I'm working on this here:
http://www.pflegediensttrave.de/

Many thanks and best,
Thomas

I have a question about the header.

I want to create a a double nav bar similar to that of http://www.gq.com. (one main nav bar and one secondary nav bar).

I am changing the code to create 2 different styles for the two navigation bars, but the second row (secondary nav bar) keeps reverting back to the style of the first one.

So basically, The bottom nav bar keeps using the styles from the top Nav bar. How do I create a second bottom nav bar similar to gq.com?

How can I make them two different styles?

Thanks so much

I get a white screen for the rest of the site when I add categories to the nav. I don't have the categories as a dropdown and I've made sure there are posts assigned to each category. The header and the start of the navigation works but the categories just don't - they cause a PHP fatal error:

PHP Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /var/www/vhosts/SITE.com/subdomains/SITE2/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/bigfeature/library/functions/theme-functions.php on line 118

This is the code on line 118 in that file.
echo '<li class="'.(is_category($catID)?'current_page_item':'').($navItem==$last?' last':'').($navItem==$first?' first':'').'"><span class="navitem">'.$catName.'</span>';

No changes have been made - everything is still standard.

Anyone else had this? It was removing the categories by itself when I was putting them in, and since I installed simple:forum, it just gave up entirely so I can't have categories in the top menu.

Also, that's the only non-recommended plugin install - the other plugins in the site are all on the recommended-for-the-theme list.
