yes I saw that, it's strange that it's removed, because it's still working as far as I have tested. The project was maybe shut down after I requested html5 functionality :)

btw, iframe embed code (html5 compatible) can be added to the video field.

Hi, I have searched everywhere for the proplayer plugin but I cannot seem to find it. The link on it in wordpress was already broken and even 3rd party sites have also broken links.

Is there an alternative? or where can I get the plugin? thanks.

yea that didnt help. i did some search about it and i think it is just Vimeo not allowing. I just tested with embed code, and works fine. It is just using proplayer with the link of the content or site.

I tested with removing the storage of playlists, but proplayer needs them to work. The savePlaylist function in playlist-controller.php (proplayer plugin folder) can be reprogrammed to delete old entries though (by adding a date field to table and removing older ones), but this is not something I'm going to do. The above solution is the same as deleting it in phpmyadmin. It can also be changed to run only when reached a certain number of playlists.

Do you mean every time the DB is full I must delete ProPlayer lists manually ???

you can add this to functions.php to empty the playlist db table (reload the website one time and it will be done. then remove it or comment it out.):

$wpdb->query("delete from ".$wpdb->prefix."proplayer_playlist");

in some browsers the click event is stolen by flash (when clicking on the flash object). That's why I wrote this:

Hi every one, I was using the ProPlayer plugin and after 4 months my database was full : the ProPlayer had used 150mo to store play lists on the database !

Is there any body who had the same problem ? is there any way to prevent this ?

I guess what I meant by "It doesn't seem to work" is that the click on the pro player flash movie slide (the first slide) doesn't pause the slider (in Chrome and IE) -- the other browsers I've tested do pause it (Safari and Firefox). hmmm.

works in Chrome and IE8 (in Windows 7) for me. I did not click on a flash though, just an image, that can be the difference.

Cool. So far I've had some success with that, but some browsers don't seem to work. It works on Safari (Mac) Firefox (Mac & Windows), but doesn't work on Chrome (Mac & Windows) and IE8 (Windows).

will stop the slider if it's clicked.

Thanks! I imagined that it would not be exactly easy, but this would be a great way to dive into some javascript and learn a bit more.

Another idea for this kind of functionality perhaps would be to trigger the video in a lightbox, and position it directly above the slider- so even if it is flipping the images in the background, the lightbox would cover it. Seems like that would be a kludge-y way to do it, thought.

Thanks for your thoughts on this, I really appreciate it, and am going to wind up purchasing the theme for other sites once I really learn the ins and outs.

First, I love the theme! Getting down to business, I'm wondering if anyone out there has done this:

Put a proplayer video in a BF slider with auto="true" (so it automatically moves), but found a way to have the slider pause after the slide's video has been clicked and started to play.

The video trailer is the first slide in the link above, so if someone manages to click the play button, the slide will eventually flip while the video plays. It would be lovely if there was some way to pass a message from the video to the BF_Slider to pause. Looks like if you press the back button on the slider then the slider is put in a paused state, so perhaps it's possible to do this if the video starts..

Anyone ever done this or would know where to start with the javascript? Seems like this could be a pretty cool bit of functionality.

external images and video thumbs are not re sized with timthumb, this means they can be distorted. There are 2 ways around this:

Right click and save the distorted thumb image. Then resize it and upload it with wordpress, and then add the url in the "Thumbnail image URL" field below the editor (you must have the latest version of the theme for this to work (1.3.5.1). here's how to upgrade).

or add a width and height for the thumbnails in the same proportion as the image. Example:
[bfthumbs category="featured" width="255" height="191"]

the url was wrong (get the right url shown by clicking share), use this shortcode instead:

and I also recommend to add the width and height (you get this shown by pressing embed), since then it will be re sized proportionally.

the plugin is activated and I've done all you have explained about the videos, but for the first time, after publishing the post, I have an image like this and the second time I go on the homepage I found only the broken image-icon and the name of the video in the high-left corner of the thumb.

I'm using BigFeature and the frontpage template for my homepage setted as a static page, I've installed Proplayer, but doesn't generate thumbnails in the homepage and the video inside the post works...

Found a couple of quickfixes for the dropdown/flash issue. Add wmode="transparent" to the embed code. or you can use the ProPlayer plugin instead.
