it's because the first post in the featured category is a video, and nivoslider does not show videos (bfslider and awshowcase do show videos though). it should show the default image / featured image if it's added though.

i want to show slides from latest post from featured category. using this code
[nivoslider name="featured" type="category" height="400" numposts="4" slices="20"]

it only show earlier post in the categroy. if i change type="news" , it will show post from every category. when i put oderby=date and oder=desc , it only change the order of earlier post, still newer post is not in sliders.
