use the page slider if you want to use custom images. you need to style it if you want the same look as the content slider, but a tip is to just copy the code from the content slider and paste it into the page slide and edit it as you want. Copy everything inside the slider li tag (the div with the "post slide" classes). This is easiest done in Firebug just right click on the slide and choose inspect then right click on that div and choose copy html.
