Category Visibility is not working with this theme. With Category Visibility activated the Recent Posts and BF Recent Posts Widgets do not work. I have tested this with the default wordpress theme and it works fine, you had requested I try the default theme and get back to you, sorry I couldn't find the old post to add this too.

The weird thing is, the widgets (recent posts) shows up on all pages except the frontpage.

Please assist.

is this a page template? or the frontpage of the blog?

It appears to be the blog template (which just happens to be my frontpage). Must be something with the blog template.

yes, it was a problem with the blog posts template and category visibility. fixed it.

Still having a problem with Category Visibility plugin. When displaying recent posts in the sidebar, it still displays categories that are suppose to be invisible.

that plugin is full of bugs. here is another version, that is still in beta, but works much better already. It only works if the frontpage is the blog though...

Yeah I think your right, if you have "Your latest posts" checked then it will some what work correctly. Hope a better plugin comes along soon so we can actually use recent posts or BF recent posts (neither of them work). Had to go back to Category Invisibility-iPeat.... it still works better.

I've just noticed the issue yesterday. It is not related to the theme as I've reproduced it with the default Wordpress template.
I've replaced this plugin with Advanced Category Excluder which seems to work fine.

Note that the version 1.4.3 of this plugin has an issue with PHP v5.3.
v1.5.0 will fix this and should be out soon (as the developper said).

You're welcome :)

If you're using one of the "recent" default widgets, don't forget to replace it with the A.C.E. version if you have a hidden category/post/... that is still showing in the widget.

I'm not sure if this should be an ACE or a BigFeature challenge.

But after enabling categories in the navigation, the dropdown displays all the categories right?

And from my understanding, ACE is used to hide/exclude posts which are related to a category right?

But can ACE or BigFeature hide/exclude the category name from the dropdown navigation?
