Centering the top menu on BigFeature template

Sorry for posting twice (once on TF) but I just found this forum

I’m attempting to center the top menu bar, I have been looking into the issue, and apparently I need to add a new div to put the menu li inside of, so that I can use a span for the links and center the text menu items. (at least that is what I gathered)

I would like to know how to center it and/or where to add the div to wrap the menu in. The header.php references another area, and I don’t know where the Html is for the menu.

Would anyone mind pointing me to the right php file or have any tips?

the navigation is sent to header.php with a hook. You can create your own hook function and wrap a div around the navigation like that. Put this code in the functions.php in a child theme:

add_action( 'bf_header', 'my_navigation' );
add_action( 'wp_head', 'remove_actions' );

function remove_actions() {
  remove_action( 'bf_header', 'bf_navigation' );
}

function my_navigation() {
  echo '<div id="navwrapper">';
  bf_navigation();
  echo '</div>';
}

Is there a list of all the hooks you have placed in here? I design and create child themes for several themes using hooks such as thesis thematic and hybrid and all have a listing of the available hooks and where they are located.

Ive looked in functions.php and Im just not seeing it, only the calls. Id like to add in my own wrapper as the only wrapper you have is container and it covers the entire site whereas I need to change the background of just under the navigation bar.

Can you please point me to where the actual programming is so that I can add in my custom class? Ive looked everywhere. I know it exists somewhere lol.

A request would be for better more technical documentation on the theme for designers and developers. I get it that most users won't use it but for those of us who can do our own coding and would like to create child themes this would be helpful.

Also for the footer. On a fresh install of BF and using the topart child theme the theme is broken in the footer which floats left of the container. Still having issues with the url of the image for the default image and fyi if you remove a image from the default image it shows a red x in IE 7 and 8 and missing image icon in safari.

the hooks are in hooks.php and the functions in theme-functions.php (in the library/functions folder).

a developer documentation is a good idea.

about the footer in the topart childtheme...what version of the theme are you using? it's not floating to the left for me (using 1.3.3 of bigfeature and 1.0.1 of topart).

about the default image, it would be easier to figure out if you linked to a page with this issue, or paste the image url here.

I just put screen shots in the new thread I created. I'm sorry. I don't want to link to it as its a hostgator temporary url and my client might not like that. I'd be more than happy to email a link to you so you can look at it. I've got some very weird issues.

At this point Im about ready to scrap the whole thing and start over from scratch because I feel like I'm hacking away at this and doing crazy stuff to get stuff to show that I normally wouldn't have to do.
