I want to make my home page exactly like the frontpage example you have here:

I have created a slides page, a slide 1 page, slide 2 page, and slide 3 page. Slide 1, 2, and 3 have the slides page set as their parent.

I have the following code on my slides page:

[bfslider height="348" buttons="false"]
[bfthumbs category="portfolio" numposts="3"]

I have 3 dummy blog posts with category set to portfolio and each post has a small image and a some dummy text.

BUT when I visit my homepage the thumbnails just show text, no image, and the blog posts remain below the thumbnails and I'd like it to look exactly like your sample page.

Here's how to add images to the posts that will be used for thumbsnails/slider etc. seems like you figured it out though.

Is it possible to combine images and videos in the slider? I can get thumbnails of the images and the videos to show up in the thumbs below, but the slider ignore any posts with images.

it is. does the slider ignore posts with images? that's strange. How do you add the images to the posts?

Here is my Frontpage:

I tried adding the images a couple of ways. But if you look at the current home page you will see the second thumb is an image but does not appear in the slider above.

I added the image URL to the "Thumbnail image URL" field. To get the image in the post itself I also have to include "<img src="http://www.mikerielly.com....."

Can you tell me what I am missing?

for the slider the images must be added as a featured image or to the "Image url" field, and not the "Thumbnail image URL" (it will still work for thumbnail posts). If you don't want a featured image for the post, just resize the image smaller than the content width.
