Full-Width, Page Specific Headers

I need to create a home page with a full width header, as well as inner pages with a smaller, different full width header. I've seen this done with custom body classes in other wordpress themes. Please help.

Here is an example of what I'm trying to achieve...

Homepage with full-width header:
http://north.bensaunders.com/

Inner Pages with different, page-specific full width headers (smaller):
http://north.bensaunders.com/about/

http://north.bensaunders.com/journal/

you can use the bfWide child theme as a starting point. I'm planning to create a new child theme that looks very much like that though. I will add body classes so it will be easier to change the design with css, but for now you can add includes in the php (in the customHeader function). Get the location with conditional tags. Example:

if( is_frontpage() ) include( STYLESHEETPATH . '/fpbanner.php' );
