I added the following code to the feature HTML, but it still shows the first attached picture instead of the galleria.

adminanything added to that field should be shown instead of the feature post image (container width image in single post view or top of the blog). If the feature image is disabled then it will show the content width image instead.
I thought this was a problem with the "Use First Attached Image as default", but nope still works.

I still get no feature content to work with the latest update. However, I have the "use first attached image as default" activated.
Further, could you simplify the the shortcode that when no post id is given that it takes the actual post? Like this I can upload pictures to the post and just add [galleria]

adminno feature images/videos/featured-area works? how do you add them? deactivate the ""use first attached image as default" setting and add it with the "Set featured image" functionality to see if it works. The image must be atleast the container width to span above the sidebar, unless it will be shown in the content area (there is also a setting for showing it below the title).
I will consider adding the current post as default parameter to some shortcodes.
