Image gallery with large size download links

I wanted to create a wallpaper section in which people can download large size (2500+ pixel size) images to use as wallpapers. Of course the nextgen gallery seems like the obvious choice to display the images in a thumbnail format, but what about a link to download the images in a large pixel size?

Anyone has implemented anything like this before?

zip the large ones and they will download and not just show in the browser. and upload them manually to a folder with ftp instead of attaching them to a post. you can do this with bfthumbs using the filter to add the extra links.
