I just bought the Big Feature template. I installed it and the feature image is not working. I tried all the trouble shooting steps. This is the broken link:

Nothing is returned. However, if you add a h parameter for height, it works:

It is obvious that the wrong version of timthumb is being used. The source of timthumb.php included in bigfeature.zip does not have any way to handle the parameter "zcp=topleft". This is some type of mod to timthumb that has not been included in the file. The write version of the file has been provided at some time because it works on other sites:

Please provide me with the right version of timthumb.php or tell me what I'm doing wrong.

seems like you have mixed versions of the theme, zcp should be a number in the version you are using (1.3.5.2). Delete the theme and reupload it.

Resize the image size of the image addded, it's way too big, this can cause memory problems and stuff when resizing with timthumb. It's best to use container width images, because then they don't need timthumb for feature width images, only for content/thumb width.

I downloaded the theme again, and the version of timthumb included still does not have the cropping mod. I got it from here (http://blog.studio-xl.com/timthumb-cropping-mod/) and copy/pasted it in. Perhaps Themeforest has the wrong version of the theme?

You're right about the resize. That fixed the problem. I had tried that before but I did it by removing the post's feature image and replacing it with a smaller one. Apparently this does not change the feature image, you must delete the post and create it again to change the image. This is a bug you might want to look into.

never had the cropping mod...that's just something I added. about deleting the image...use the "Set featured image" functionality (or adding a url) to set the default/feature image instead, the old way is not that good. I won't bother touching that, rather remove it.

I did use the "set feature image" functionality. This did not change the feature image. I had to delete the post and recreate it.

If you download the Big Feature theme from Theme Forrest, the version of timthumb that comes with it has NO WAY of handling "&zcp=topleft". There is nothing in timthumb.php that can handle this parameter. Check the code and see for yourself.

I will add that I have lots of trouble changing the featured image as well. I have had to copy all my HTML and recreate a page/post with the same HTML and then select a new featured image.

It's not clear at all on how to remove a featured image once it's set. If anybody knows please help. Thanks.

it got a way to handle a number parameter like this: zcp=2, but not zcp=topleft.

I have changed it now so that the "set feature image" functionality now overrides the "default image" set in the uploader.

I know there's an issue with removing the "default image" in the uploader. Most times it works, some times it doesn't, so I will look into that (deleting the image works though, no need to recreate the post). btw the "Use First Attached Image as default" can mess things up though, since it will automatically add the first image as default.
