Making the thumbnail appear

Any suggestions on getting thumbnails to appear when specifying 'Limit frontpage text'?

there two are not related as far as I know. you can have the frontpage text limited to 10 and still have the thumbnails on. Check the Theme Settings page to turn on the Thumbnails.
