More Widgets please (in between posts?)

I love the look of Big Feature when there is no sidebar so all you see is the nice wide post images and the post excerpt text on the front page.

I would really like to see an new widget area in between those posts where we can choose to display an Ad, images or whatever.

I found some code that describes how to insert a widget in-between posts:

I'm not very confident in my messing-around-with-code skills so I dunno if that would work or not.

there is a widget space called "Adspace - below article" that insert an ad below the first article on the front page and below the article on single view page. I'm considering making it possible to add new widget areas in the theme settings, but you can also do it manually like in the tutorial, but you have to know what you are doing.

btw, I wonder if there is plugin for adding ads like this...it doesn't have to be a widget space, just some code inserted in the loop...
