Portfolio 2 Image help

Hi Vfxdude,

I use the portfolio2 template as a "news" section of my website, which chronologically displays our news posts. I would like to have the featured/default image show up in the portfolio2 page but then not show up in the actual news post, which is usually a press release—which needs to be primarily text. My portfolio2 page looks really weird without the featured/default image being displayed.

So, is there a way to have the portfolio2 page display the featured image and the actual post hide the image?

in the latest version (1.4.2) there is a filter that can be used to remove the default image for selected categories (or all) in the single post view. Add this code the functiopns.php of a child theme (use bfBlank if not using one already)
```
function bf_single_noimage($pt) {
  if (is_single()) {
    return 'custom';
  }
  return $pt;
}
add_action( 'bf_post_layout', 'bf_single_noimage' );
```
Checking for a post category can be added inside the is_single if statement:
```
global $post;
$category = get_the_category($post->ID);
if (!empty($category)) {
  foreach ($category as $cat) {
     if($cat == 'portfolio') return 'custom'; else return $pt;
  }
}
```
Another method is to create a custom single.php file and use the custom single functionality to target the category.
