the details for big feature v. 1.3 states that it is search engine optimized. Should I still install plugins like "all in one seo" or "headspace2"?

you can, but the SEO is dynamic titles, metatags, right heading tags etc. If you deactivate the dynamic titles you can use Headspace instead.
