I have another problem..i read the wp documentation on setting up static pages, followed their docs and watched your videotutorial.
it seems like whatever i do, the static front page does not display my blogposts.
also if i add my newly created 'home' to the navigation, it does not show up in the navigation bar on the website anymore. Before when it still showed up, it linked to a different 'home' (something like page_id=287) than when i click on the main logo in the header (this showed fun.kyti.me).in the wp documentation it says to edit your permalinks to 'title page', but my server does not allow that. also in your tutorial you dont seem to change anything with permalinks.

what page template are you using as frontpage? what vesion of the theme?
Here's how to set up f.ex the portfolio template (portfolio 2 on the demo website) as frontpage:
1. Create a page (call it frontpage or something like that (not home)) set it to use the portfolio template and add a category custom field (with name or id as value).
2. Create a new page called Blog (without any contents).
3. in settings - reading chose the "A static page radio button" and set the portfolio page as front page and the blog page as posts page.
4. Add the Blog page to the navigation. The Home link should already be there, if not re add it (it is important that this is not a page called home).
