Hey Dude,

Just thought I would start a thread that can be built upon with good ideas for future versions by your customers.

I've done a few mock ups too, I'll kick it off:

Facebook and Twitter connect integration into comments

This is done on big popular sites like Techcrunch and Mashable . It encourages more blog comments because people just need to enter their existing credentials:

Ability to change link colours in main post and sidebar seperately

Would be good to have different colours for both

Choice of different link styles within the theme settings

Pages can be shown in thumbnails just like posts

I've been using pages for my portfolio instead of posts because I love the layout of the About Page template. However this means the parent 'Portfolio' page is empty. Would be great to dynamically insert new pages (new portfolio work)

URL entry for RSS icon

This is just for ease of use.

Cufon fonts for Twitter updates in sidebar

That would be a awesome integration

Explaining what new features are in the latest upgrade

I follow the comments on Theme Forest regurly and whenever you say a new version is available I would love to know what new features you've added just so I can check for them and see if they are working correctly.

Just wanted to say this theme is easily the best i've ever seen and if you need any help whatsoever like ideas, graphics, I would be glad to help. You're hard work is defo not going unnoticed

many good ideas, I will consider them. About the new features explanations, I have plans to make videos for that, but just not gotten around to it yet...

Do not show comments in meta if there is no comments would be useful option.

I would like to have a choice for individual posts to display using "featured post" widget. Dropdown with list of posts or choice by post id... Or possibility to generate/display there a virtual category (not shown in post meta, category lists, sitemap etc) for same purpose.

Nah I mean the recent comments widget in the sidebar with avatar support.

Obviously the Big Feature post comments section already has avatars.

I'm not sure about disqus, it has pretty poor SEO and I dont think it looks as nice as the big feature native comments. Once/If big feature gets Facebook/Twitter connect support it won't really have any benefit to me

Can you give me any hints as what kind of stuff will be included in the next release? Any Facebook Connect/Twitter Connect stuff?

It will be realeased in some days, I will add the changes in the changelog. Kind of forgotten about this thread, I will implement the avatar in the recent comments...and the sidebar link color. no facebook/twitter stuff though...I will consider it for version 1.4.

Have you seen todays news?

Facebook just released a 'like' button which is similar to the retweet button, I think it's going to be bigger and better.

Would look great next to the retweet button on the theme :)

sure, I can add the Facebook like button. Just about finished with version 1.3.5 now, so no new features are added now, this got to wait until version 1.4

By the way, does BF Thumbs work with pages?

Also if a post has over a certain amount of comments, the theme creates different pages for the comments even though they all appear on one page? Check here http://bit.ly/aSPmr9

yes bfthumbs can have pages. check out this demo (it is the showposts parameter that makes it into pages. press "show the shortcodes" in the top to get the parameters).

The comments page functionality is controlled by wordpress. Not sure why the page navigation is shown in this case...maybe because of all the nested comments. You can turn off the paging in the settings though. You can test with a different number of comments per page to see if it changes (in settings - discussion).

Actually I meant using BF thumbs for pages in the blog. For example I use pages for my portfolio instead of blog posts because I can easily remove the sidebar.

I think you mentioned something a while back about how you can make thumbnails for Pages but I'm not sure...? Can it only be done manually?

yes you can add pages with the id parameter (ex: id="32,54,243"). You can remove the sidebar from posts too, with the custom single functionality.

I'm using the bf thumbs code to try and add thumbnails of pages, but it's not working, I guess I'm doing it wrong. I've tried

[bfpages id="9,6,3"]

and

[bfthumbs bfpage ID="9,6,3" width="153" height="120" numcols="5" marginright="20" text="true" title="true" cufon="false" numwords="10" meta="true" class="mediumheading"]

What is the correct shortcode for bfthumbs pages?

I just tried one page id and then every single page id. Also tried deactivating all plugins and that didn't work.

Is there something required in the 'Big Feature Page Settings' to make this work? I've been inserting the big feature image manually in the HTML rather than using the entry fields?

nothing required. If you don't have a default image added then the placeholder will show up instead (just a border around where the image should be). You can create a wp user for me and I can take a look at it though (email it with the contact form on my profile page on Themeforest).

I do not know what IDs you added, there were no pages with those IDs. I added this shortcode and it works as it should:

[bfthumbs id="2737,2631,2871"]

If you also want thumbnail images you have to add default images to those pages.
