Hi,
I use Bigfeature 1.3.5.2 with the childtheme BFNAv 1.0.2.
I have now added in the theme settings -> general the "blog meta description" and keywords:
and for sure, saved it :-)
But when I look in the source code of my site, I don't see a meta tag for this description or keywords:

Any idea, what has went wrong?

Strange, these settings are indeed unchecked at me, and although my meta tags are not shown in source code of my site. I have checked these settings, saved, and then unchecked it again and saved, reloaded my website, but no meta tags as set in the screenshot above is shown in the source code of the site:

No other SEO plugin is in use.

Ahhh, ok, now I understand ... the blog page shows this in the source code (http://tinyurl.com/2e4z9n4).
Ok, now I add this to the "home" page separately.

The slider image on my site using BigFeature doesn't have an alt component. This causes many validation errors. How can I apply alt characteristics to this?
