Is there a way to mix the thumbnails with the full posts on the homepage? For instance, I'd like to have three thumbnail posts across the top of the page, and then a list of posts going down the left side on the homepage. I'd use the thumbnails as a sort of "Featured posts" thing at the top, and then could have longer-form stuff the rest of the page.

If possible, I'd also like those three thumbnails to exist at the top of every post, but I'm less convinced that there's a way to do that.

Any help is appreciated, thanks so much! I LOVE BigFeature, and can't stop raving about it to people.

you can add the bfthumbs shortcode to a page and then use the bf page widget to add it to the "Adspace - Blog home below the nav". This will show the thumb posts only on the frontpage of the blog. If you want to show it on every post too you can add that adspace to single.php. To do this add this code below the get_header() in single.php:

adspace(__('Adspace - Blog home below nav','BigFeature'));

That's awesome, thanks so much! One other question: are there styling options for the thumbs? I want to add a border around it, and preferably even between columns, but was having trouble. Any thoughts?

there's no styling options, but I plan to add several styles for version 1.4. There's a theme setting to add a border around the thumbnails.

Hi,

I having a problem with my thumbnails since I have upgraded my theme to 1.4. My thumbnails don't show up any more and the thumbnail layout display is not centered properly any more, it use be displayed properly.

Do you know what may have happened for both reason?

not sure why the thumb images are not showing up. How did you add them? try the "Set featured image" or the "Thumbnail image URL" if you only want the thumbs to display, but not the feature images.

About the formatting of the thumbs, it seems like you have copied in the old stylesheet into the child theme style.css. This is causing problems. You need to remove those styles for the new version to work properly. There's also an import at the top, you should also remove that one.

And, deactivate the "Add an image border to default images" theme settings, since this is causing some formatting problems with the thumb posts. This is a bug that will be fixed in the next bugfix release.

You were correct about the old style.

for some reason I am still not able to display these thumbnails. I changed the product page use the thumbnails.php but no either.
I toll a snapshot of my setting. You might be able to see a something wrong here.

Do I need to re upload the image to create this thumbnails once I follow the steps.

The reason that the thumbnails did not show what that I image were from the image ngallery plugin.

I think I found the culprit. "Use First Attached Image as default: is this one is checked, all the thumbnails show up properly, but the problem now is that if it is checked all the top images gets a duplicate.

Because you have inserted the images into the post? You have to chose if you want to use default post images or inserted images. If you only want the thumb images insert the full url to the image in the "Thumbnail image URL" input field below the editor (upload the images with the wordpress image uploader).
