1. Is it possible to make the sidebar only show on the main page? I like the look of having my posts be full width on post pages, but I need to have a sidebar on the main home page. Is there a way to do this? I tried making the home page a page with the sidebar, but in order to get it to show up I have to have it enabled in general, which makes it show up on posts.

2. I don't always want to have a big feature image at the top of each post, but I *do* want posts to have thumbnails. Is there a way to set an image for the thumbnail without it also being set as the feature image? Custom fields, perhaps?

1. add widgets to the main sidebar and it will show up.

2. there is a "BigFeature page/post settings" section below the editor when you edit posts/pages. There you can enter a "Thumbnail image URL" that will only be used for thumbnail images.

1. Oh, I know how to make the sidebar show up. What I'm trying to do is get the sidebar to ONLY show on the front page, not on posts.

Also - I have noticed that when I add the sidebar to the front page, I no longer have the nice, full-width image for the top post that you seem to have in the demo and the videos. What do I need to fix?

1. you can use the custom single template functionality to remove the sidebar for posts.

to get the feature image to display (the one that spans over the sidebar) you have to add an image with at least the width of the container (848px or above for the default container width. you set the container width in the theme settings). For the feature image to work the "Enable the Feature Image for posts" theme setting must be set, and the "Disable the feature image on the frontpage" must be unchecked for it to be on top of the blog.
