Don't know about the "modest branding option", but you can add the iframe embed or just the url in the video field and use bfthumbs with popup enabled and the videoes will popup.
1. Install and activate the Shadowbox JS plugin.
2. Create posts with the iframe embed code (better than the url, because you can use the HD size embed) in the video field below the editor.
3. Create a page/template with a bfthumbs like this:
[bfthumbs sid="bfthumbs-video" category="video" popup="true" showposts="9" ajaxnav="false"]
The image preview will automatically be fetched (version 1.4.1.1 of the theme). The popup="true" parameter enables the shadowbox popup, and showposts="9" enables pagination (need the wp-pagenavi or wp page numbers plugin). Bfthumbs can also be used in the archive with the new shortcode template system. This means you can just add categories (or custom taxonomies) to the navigation with the custom bfthumbs template.
